Welcome to Music Theatre of Wichita
Chosen by the American Bus Association as one of the Top 100 Must-See Events in North America, MTWichita presents Broadway stars of today and tomorrow – at a fraction of Broadway prices. Each show includes performers from New York and Hollywood, working hand in hand with gifted Midwestern artists to create fully orchestrated, excitingly staged musical shows – which can only be seen here in Wichita.
Internationally acclaimed for its excellence, MTWichita has created world premieres and cast albums. Former MTWichita alumni are seen in almost every Broadway musical currently playing and most national tours. These talented alums include Kelli O’Hara (South Pacific), Matt Bogart (Jersey Boys) and Emmy and Tony-winner Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked).
We also proudly offer a variety of opportunities for young people – in our productions, in our Apprentice Program, in our Teen Choir, in the Jester Awards program, and with a host of other educational programs which are always expanding.

The Jester Awards for High School Musical Theatre Excellence
In 2002, MTW launched a program called the Jester Awards, bringing positive attention to area high schools for the excellence of the musical shows being produced on their campuses. With a skilled and dedicated team of judges attending dozens of performances, the Jester Awards have won high praise for successfully increasing awareness and pride in the achievements of local young people.
